NASSAU - A court order has put all of the town election results under lock and key with the sheriff's department until Monday, but returns show that challenger David Fleming lost to incumbent Carol Sanford and may lose third party lines as well.
Fleming, the town GOP chairman, came 101 votes short of Sanford in a confrontational Republican primary that often saw the gloves come off.
Machine totals show 409 for Sanford and 308 for Fleming, said Democratic Elections Commissioner Ed McDonough.
